The endangered Banded Rail was introduced to
treasure island about 10 years ago. It reminds me of a small kiwi bird
in that it is flightless... It has become very plentiful on the island
and the birds have grown bold. In this case I put some
empty plates from our last-night's dinner out and they jumped on them
searching for
food.
